#BOTD 2022 – Week 8

Is this your first time checking out a BOTD Weekly recap? Thanks! Let me get you caught up…I used to challenge myself to listen to at least one new band every single day (new to me that is). I’ve never actually been successful in completing this challenge. I skipped a few years between 2018-2021, but here we are in 2022, and I’m trying again. Figured I’d share my findings.

Week 8

02/21: Less Miserable
I checked out the 2020 release, Insufficient Funds. It reminded me of a basement show from the early 2000s. Favorite Track: Horses Held

02/22: glimmers
I checked out the 2 EPs, starting with the 2021 release, Worlds Apart. I picked a favorite from the 2020 EP, Cluttered Heart. Favorite Track: The First Thing

02/23: Grin & Bear
I listened to the 2020 release, Be Gentle. Really good record. I had a hard time picking a favorite, so I picked the first track i listened to. Favorite Track: India

02/24: Saint Judas
I listened to the new EP, a terrible year. I love when I’m surprised by horns. Favorite Track: like turning off the TV

02/25: Empath
New music Friday. I checked out the new record, Visitor. I had no idea what to expect. I listened twice. This thing was so good. Favorite Track: 80s

02/26: Side Note
I listened to the EP from 2021, Lakeside Hiatus. Really good little EP. Favorite Track: Make Over

02/27: Future Crib
I checked out the 2021 release Full Time Smile. I was hooked after 2 notes. I love when an opening to a record leaves you wondering where the hell the record is going to take you. Favorite Track: Most Likely Never Going to Die
