#BOTD 2022 – Week 10
Monday, March 14th, 2022
Somehow this week I managed to pick mostly bands from overseas. In fact, three days in a row I randomly picked three fantastic bands from the UK. Don’t sleep on UK punk (and I use the punk term broadly). You probably need to put on a flannel to listen to the tracks added this week. Serious 90s vibes. I love that music is time travel. Anyway, go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

Week 10
03/07: Teenage Joans
I listened to the 2021 EP, Taste Of Me. From the first, “woo (whew)” to the last “wa who we ooo”, I loved this EP. Each song was like a tiny adventure filled with a ear pleasing surprise. And, intentional or not, I picked up some solid 90s nods, which if you’ve been following along…flannel. Favorite Track: Wine
03/08: Somerset Thrower
I checked out the 2021 release, Paint My Memory. Unintentionally kept the 90s theme going with this record. Keep that flannel on for this one. If you don’t get nostalgic while listening to this one, you are probably much younger than me. Favorite Track: 4:22
03/09: Hey Thanks!
I checked out the 2019 EP, Nothing It Would Change, Nothing I Could Say. If you miss that early Taking Back Sunday era emo vibe, you will enjoy this EP. They got a new record coming out May 25, which from the sound of the singles will be a great record. P.S…anyone remember the band Hellogoodbye? “From Me 2 U” gave me that same dance vibe. Favorite Track: Let Me Dress Like Tom Sawyer and Leave Me Alone
03/10: Weatherstate
New music Thursday? I checked out the new record out on Rude Records, Never Better. This thing rips. That’s all you need to know. Favorite Track: Normality
03/11: ME REX
New music Friday. I stayed in the UK to check out the 2022 EP, Pterodactyl from ME REX. Every track was my favorite. I hear they got another EP coming out in June, which is great because listening to this band just makes you want to keep listening to this band! Favorite Track: Skin, It Itches
03/12: Autumn Fires
I listened to the 2021 EP, Promises You Can’t Keep. It’s everything you love about pop punk. Favorite Track: Losing Sleep
03/13: Calmgrove
I checked out the 2020 EP, Light on Your End. That intro! I also listened to the single, “Fixate”. Looks like they also have a new single dropping this week. Be sure to check that out! Favorite Track: Misery
