From the East Coast to the Mid-West to the West Coast – and no bands from overseas or our friendly neighbors to the north or south? Week 19 = nostalgia. Go get me a tissue box. Also, go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.
Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.
Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (5/9 – 5/15).
xoxo Jaclyn
05/09: What Makes Sense
I started with the 2019 EP, Fear and Loathing in the Northeast. Then, I listened to all of the singles. I really appreciate the pop punk goes acoustic new single! Where in NY are y’all from? Want to play a show? Favorite Track: Rear Window (or The Northeast)
05/10: Dirty Shrines
I listened to the 2021 full length, Digital Ego. I listened twice. Well done. Favorite Track: Iron Blinders
05/11: Dana Skully and the Tiger Sharks
I listened to the 2021 full length, Awful House. Sounds like a super fun house show – part 1. This reminds me how incredibly thankful I am for the friends I’ve made touring the country. Favorite Track: Learning to Take Up Space
05/12: Pigeon Pit
New music Thursday? I checked out the new full length, Feather River Canyon Blues. I knew I loved it as soon as I pushed play. Sounds like a super fun house show – part 2. Favorite Track: Love Letters
05/13: Sadurn
New music Friday. I checked out the 2022 full length, Radiator. Superb opening track. Go push play and climb into a hammock for 35 minutes. Favorite Track: snake or moses kill
05/14: Against the Current
I checked out the 2021 release, fever. Someone might need to fact check me here…I must have heard of this band before today? Dance pop punk? Favorite Track: burn it down
05/15: Good Hangs
I started with the 2021 full length, The Things We Think About and then checked out the new singles. I wasn’t expecting what I heard when I pushed play. Dance pop emo? Fun! Favorite Track: I Only Do Pushups When I’m Drunk
