Band of the Day - Week 23

This week I managed to unintentionally put together a perfectly ordered playlist (IMO). Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (6/06 – 6/12).

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 23

06/06: Casper Skulls
I listened to the 2021 release, Knows No Kindness. I don’t know how to describe this album. It’s either a just before a storm, or immediately after a storm. Favorite Track: Ouija or Lingua Franca

06/07: Shipwrecked
I started with the 2018 full length, No Problem and then checked out the new single. It’s perfectly rough around the edges. What’s next? Favorite Track: Ligma or Things Never Change

06/08: splits
I listened to the 2019 EP, they let us go and the 2021 EP, vice versa. Then I find out they announced their last show ever! Reminder, go support the bands you love (and the bands you don’t yet know if you love) while they are still around. I’m sorry I missed you! Favorite Track: Atrophy

06/09: Afloat
I listened to everything. Sounds like a super fun basement show! Favorite Track: But I’m Not

06/10: Safari Room
New music Friday. I started with the new album, Complex House Plants. This is one of the more interesting records I’ve heard in a while. There was an unexpected and incredibly pleasant surprise in every song. Well done! Favorite Track: Best of Me

06/11: Palm Friends
New music Saturday? I checked out the new EP, The Delivery. This was exactly what I needed this Saturday morning. When the harmonies come in during track one…well done! Great EP! Favorite Track: Hidden Perks

06/12: Summer Heights
New music Sunday? I checked out the new EP, OUT OF PLACE. This was a perfect EP to close out this week’s list. I couldn’t have planned it better myself. It sounds like a subtle explosion and a super fun basement show. Great little EP! Favorite Track: Sarah Jessica Parker
