Band of the Day - Week 27

When you are randomly picking bands with no idea what they sound like, it’s hard to imagine putting together a playlist that fits together as good as this one. Find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (7/11 – 7/17).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 28

07/11: Under Currents
I started with the 2020 EP, Day In/Day Out and then checked out the newer singles. The pop punk sound everyone loves. The pop punk goes acoustic sounds you forgot you loved. Favorite Track: Common Places

07/12: Tiny Kingdoms
I listened to to 2021 EP, For A Moment We Were All Alone. This gave me early 2000 vibes. Catchy melodies. A hint of that dance-pop vibe. Summer feels. Y’all know Sorry Ghost? Favorite Track: Overture II

07/13: Dear Spring
New music Wednesday? I checked out the new EP, Moments and then went back in time to hear the 2019 EP, Nature Meets Nurture. Really good EPs. Well done. Full disclosure: I feel like I can’t be certain this is the first time I’m hearing this band. Favorite Track: Every Now and Then

07/14: 3AM
New music Thursday? I listened to the new album, Life’s Hard. I also checked out the 2020 album, Summer’s Alright. This sounds like an incredibly fun basement show. Favorite Track: Looks Like I’m Skating Again

07/15: New You
New music Friday! I listened to the new EP, Candy. Grab a flannel and tell me you don’t hear at least a little nod to the 90s in each track. Favorite Track: Big Surprise

07/16: Sorry Ghost
New music Saturday? I checked out the new EP, I DID / DID I?. Gave me early 2000 vibes. Catchy melodies. A hint of that dance-pop vibe. Summer feels. Y’all know Tiny Kingdoms? Favorite Track: DRAGONFRUIT or BACK OF MY KNEES

07/17: Ariel View
I started with the 2021 album, Bury My Head. This takes the “favorite stumble upon of the week” or “don’t sleep on this band” award. I couldn’t pick just one favorite from the full length, so I went with the new single. Seriously, don’t sleep on this band. Favorite Track: Irrelevant Opinion
