Welcome to week number 29. You’ll find bands from Australia, Canada, UK, and Nashville(?). I’ve never been to Tennessee, so it’s ‘foreign’ to me? Find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.
If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.
Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.
P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.
Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (7/18 – 7/24).
xoxo Jaclyn
07/18: PAPERWEIGHT
New music Monday? I started with the new EP, Green Lotus Blooms. Extra poppy pop punk with a perfect amount of uke. Favorite Track: Fairly Floss or Asteroids! And Where To Find Them
07/19: Clay Lake
I listened to to 2021 album, Good Friends, Good Books & a Sleepy Conscience and the 2019 album, The Manly Toughness Trophy. If you like your emo with a side of noodles like I do, then you’ll love this band. Favorite Track: Laeter D or Movies Like Bruno
07/20: Winona Fighter
New music Wednesday? I checked out the new EP, Father Figure. I love how this thing opens. Sounds like a super fun show. Tell me it doesn’t make you want to dance. Favorite Track: Nyc
07/21: Among Legends
New music Thursday? I listened to the new album, Take Good Care. It’s fast. It’s catchy. It’s pop punk. You’ll bop. Favorite Track: Manifesto (of course I’d pick this one)
07/22: Bellwether
New music Friday! I listened to the new EP, Impermanence. It sounds like a sunny day beach hang. What’s not to love about that? Favorite Track: Shortsighted (that chorus)
07/23: Heavy Sweater
I checked out the self-titled EP from 2021. Sounds like a weekend porch hang. They put the harmonies and the doubled up vocals in just the right places. Favorite Track: Technically Knocked Out
07/24: Supermilk
I checked out 2021 album, Four by Three. It’s got 90s vibes. Need I say more? Favorite Track: Irrelevant Opinion
