In my opinion, this week’s list would make for a really fun show. Majority of the bands are from the East Coast(ish), so who knows, maybe one day. Who’s in? Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.
Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.
Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (5/2 – 5/8).
xoxo Jaclyn
05/02: House & Home
I listened to the full length from 2020, Find Sense. Feel Love. Make Light. Solid opener. Solid middle. Solid closer. Well done. If you somehow missed this one in 2020, go find it now. Favorite Track: Tempest
05/03: Fightmilk
I listened to the 2021 full length, Contender. The opener leaves you with absolutely no idea what to expect. Track 2 starts and you realize you probably need a flannel. Then, Hey Annabelle! starts, and you are smitten. I appreciate the song titles. I appreciate the bio. I appreciate the 90s vibes. Well done. Favorite Track: Hey Annabelle!
05/04: Doghouse Rose
I listened to the 2020 album, The Harder the Fall. This can’t be the first time I’m hearing this band. Is it? Starts off with a ripper, takes it down a notch, and ends with a catchy sing-along song. Favorite Track: The Rose (or either of the first two tracks).
05/05: Jumping Ship
I checked out both releases from 2021, Good Grief, and Happy (Enough). If I was ranking them, I think for me, Good Grief would take the #1 spot. What about you? Favorite Track: Good Luck Have Fun
05/06: Twin Brook
New music Friday. I checked out their tracks from the new split with Dog Stuff, Deathmatch and the 2020 EP, Bye-Neighbor. Sounds like they are having a ton of fun. I really dug their part of the split. Don’t sleep on them. This is probably my favorite stumble upon from this week. Favorite Track: Trust No Bitch
05/07: Trashed
I checked out the 2020 EP, Faceplant, the 2019 EP, Yours Not Mine, and the new single. Sounds like a super fun basement show from the earlier 2000’s. Favorite Track: Dear Kelsie
05/08: Say What You Will
I started with the 2019 EP, Anything, Everything. Fun little EP. I also checked out some of the newer singles. Excited to see what comes next. Catchy, pop punk. Favorite Track: Southbound
