A little bit of time travel. A little bit of, “Can you tell where a band is from by the sound?” There is definitely something for everyone on the list this week. Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.
Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.
Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (6/20 – 6/26).
P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.
xoxo Jaclyn
06/20: Pull The Curtain
I listened to the 2020 EP, Counting Sheep. Nostalgia, part 1. If you are my age, you’ll push play and will time travel 20 years (or so). Favorite Track: Glass Bones and Paper Skin
06/21: Totally Slow
I listened to the full length from 2021, Casual Drag. Nostalgia, part 2. Reminds me of my punk rock youth. Does this review tell you how old I am? Favorite Track: Found Factions
06/22: Kid You Not
I listened to to 2020 full length, Thanks, I Hate It. This has the East Coast vibes that I can’t help but enjoy. Any of them could be my favorites. Let’s play a show. Favorite Track: Thanks, I Hate It
06/23: Rest Easy
I listened to the ripper of an EP from 2021, Sick Day EP. You will love it. Favorite Track: Get Busy Dyin’
06/24: Bad Planning
New music Friday. I checked out the new release, Et Fortes. I knew I was going to like it because of the intro alone. I listened twice. I also really appreciated the full circle outro. Well done. Favorite Track: Memphis/Throw
06/25: Moonraker
New music Saturday? I checked out the new full length, The Forest. Sounds like a super fun, West Coast basement show. Favorite Track: Crickets or My First Rodeo
06/26: gloomy june
New music Sunday? I checked out the new EP, Popsick. It was perfect company during my hammock break. A gentle bop on a sunny Sunday, while your emotions are still raging from the news of the week. Favorite Track: This Party is a Warzone
