In the height of the pandemic, new music Friday was the only way I knew what day it is. Over 2 years later, I have given up on time. This week was pretty much new music every day. Find something new to listen to on repeat like I am. Maybe something will make it on your EOTY list.
Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.
P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.
Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (7/04 – 7/10).
xoxo Jaclyn
07/04: The Carolyn
New music Monday? I checked out the new album, Rhythm Of My Own Decay. Punk rock to bop to, while likely getting a small case of the feels. Favorite Track: Casi Infinito
07/05: Guardrail
I listened to to 2020 EP, Guardrail. Fast punk jams that your brain (my brain) might even make up horn parts to. Sweet harmonies! Favorite Track: ‘Til We’re Dead (or Belly-Up)
07/06: Seaholm
New music Wednesday? I checked out the new full length, It’s Raining Outside. Delicious Midwest emo. Solid collection of jams. Favorite Track: Cough Syrup
07/07: Floor Space
New music Thursday? I listened to the new album, Nothing Makes Sense. I also checked out the self-titled from 2017. Blood Money is a ripping opener! Favorite Track: Tight Rope
07/08: Bliss Fields
New music Friday! I listened to the new album, Slowly, Forever. Somehow the perfect soundtrack to traffic. I loved the journey that was the title track. Favorite Track: Satisfy
07/09: Arlo Wells
I can use the exact same post from last Saturday: I listened to the EP from 2021, Rosewood. “This record rips” jams. Well done. Favorite Track: Ghost
07/10: Ben Quad
New music Sunday? I checked out the new debut, I’m Scared That’s All There Is. 7 tracks. 7 jams. I listened twice. Favorite Track: We’re Gonna Be Here for a While
