Band of the Day - Week 31

Week number 31 is a reminder that everyone loves the 90s. Flannel required to push play. I don’t care if it feels like 104 degrees. Global warming is not real (how can anyone still believe that). Find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (8/1 – 8/7).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 31

08/01: Fime
New music Monday? I listened to the new full length, Sweeter Memory. Sounds like, the perfect way to start your day. Grab a coffee or a tea and settle in for a dream-pop, indie rock, emo filled adventure? Favorite Track: White Collar Gold

08/02: Scrunchies
New music Tuesday? I listened to to new ripper of a full length, Feral Coast. Well done. Favorite Track: No Home Planet

08/03: TOTTY
I checked out the 2020 EP, Garden. They describe themselves as ‘Songs 4 ur dogs’. Grab a flannel, a pup and have a listen. Favorite Track: Change

08/04: Only Sibling
I listened to the full length from 2020, Get Well Soon. It’s shoegaze-y, emo-y, 90s-y. In other words (that actually end in y), it’s gloomy, fuzzy, grungy. It’s good. Favorite Track: My Violet

08/05: Combat
New music Friday! I listened to the new release, Text Me When You Get Back. It’s instant nostalgia for the heyday of folk-punk. Sounds like a super fun basement show. Favorite Track: Text

08/06: Bad Beginnings
New music Saturday? I listened to the new release, Still…Hoping For The Best. Self proclaimed ‘sad pop punk’. You know, the kind of pop punk you bop to with a tissue box. Favorite Track: Truth Is

08/07: Jet///Lag
I started with the 2020 EP, Ride It Out. I’m not suggesting they remake Empire Records, but if they did, this would be on the soundtrack. Flannel required. Favorite Track: Super Mood
