Band of the Day - Week 9

It’s hard to tell if I’m being honest this week because there is no way this is the first time I’m hearing some of these bands. Is it? Anyway, this week I found myself looking at a lot of show flyers like it was the early 2000s. Do people still find new bands by looking at show flyers? How do you find new music? Has the internet really made finding new music easier? Sometimes, I think yes. Other times, I think, I’ve always been able to find new bands to listen to…

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (2/28 – 3/6).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 9

02/28: Dreamhouse
I listened to the 2019 album, Reverberating Silence. I feel like I must have known about this band back in 2019, right? Great melodies. Great harmonies. Favorite Track: The Outside

03/01: The Real You
I started with the 2020 EP, We’ve Got It All Figured Out, and then listened to everything else. Jams. Favorite Track: Van’s Manager Type Beat (oh dang, this one is a super jam!)

03/02: latewaves
I listened to the 2021 release, Hell to Pay. Great record to bop to. It also has some serious 90s vibes throughout. If you know me I’m all about that flannel. Favorite Track: Too Much

03/03: Offset Vision
I checked out the 2021 EP, Glass Walls. Super fun little EP. Strong opener, solid middle, great closer! Favorite Track: I Swear I’m Over You

03/04: A Few Too Many
New music Friday. I checked out the 2022 drop, Out for the Count. Favorite Track: Someday (because the intro, the verse, and being catch as fuck)

03/05: NOT
I found this band by way of The Real You. It looks like y’all know each other. Your shows are probably really fun! I listened to the 2021 EP, TRASH. I assure you it is anything but trash. Favorite Track: Suppressor

03/06: The Dreaded Laramie
Why didn’t I know about this band in 2019 when this self-titled EP came out? At least I know now. Come to NY. The whole EP was my favorite track. Favorite Track: Daffodils & Love
